MONTHLY VLOGS?

Guys!!!!! I filmed a vlog!!! (I also made one last month, but don't watch that, it's garbage) ahaha, I'm pretty bad at this, but hopefully with practice, and when school ends, I will be a lot better at it. Give it a watch if you have 5 min to spare ;)

Allen Gardens! A Break from Winter

Wow, it's been a hot minute and a half since my last post D: I'm sorry... I guess I just haven't really been making this a priority. (Is it too late to say "new year, new me?" LOL) But yeah, seriously, I'm going to attempt to make more of an effort at this... So, you'll see me SLIGHTLY more often. Emphasis on the slightly, for now, anyways. It's the last stretch of school, so hopefully after that, You'll see me on an almost regular basis haha.

The photos I'm about to show y'all are literally from a month ago, but better late than never, right? It was a pretty cold winter day, as all Canadian winter days are, when my friend and I decided to check out the Allen Gardens Conservatory in downtown Toronto. Inside, we were met with so so so many plants of different climates, all of which were at least 15 degrees, which made me very very happy.

We walked around, took photos, and surprisingly, I don't look that bad in some of them LOL. After, we went to a Bulk Barn that was nearby... and let's just say some damage was done ;)

Anyways, here's some of the photos from that day:

I was in the middle of cleaning my glasses =.=

I LOVE SUCCULENTS!!

Sometimes I surprise myself, looking so innocent...

Does this not look like some kind of paradise?!?!

//Autumn Vibes w/ the BFF//

 Hello online world!

It's been a while... Sorry. I've been busy. If you asked me a year ago if I thought second year could be any more hectic than first I would have been like, "Wait, it can get worse?!" So yeah, whoops.

Yesterday, the results of the presidential election came in.... And even though I'm a Canadian, I'm still just like "!?!?!?!?!" how did that even happen, guys!?

ANYWAYS. My friend took some photos of me, and I ended up derping around with his camera, here's some of the snaps:

Only I would think it'd be cool to take pics under a tree

Me looking at my future like...

lel

I'm so happy for someone who is dying from school.

In love with this pic

I think I'm so badass lmao.

Not sure what I think of this one... it was really hard to get a sharp image with such a slow shutter in a moving car..

Bokeh for dayyyyys

There's nothing better than pho at midnight with a cool person.

I'm thinking of getting a proper camera (super soon) and hopefully, I'm not super shit at taking pictures, if I can do that, guess what's coming your way???? That's right, MORE PHOTOS. Ahaha, anyways, thanks for reading, and viewing my nonsense.

Til next time,

Jackie

DIY Notebooks | Requested

Hello guys! Here is the LOOOONG awaited DIY that's been requested for over a month now, an in-depth tutorial on how to make the notebooks from this post.

Materials

  • notebooks to decorate
  • decorative/scrapbook paper (I got mine from here)
  • acrylic paint/paintbrush
  • scissors
  • glue
  • computer and printer
  • Mod Podge (optional)

Scrapbook Method

Start with measuring how much paper you need and mark it with a pen about 1-2cm away from the edge of your notebook as shown. Then, cut along the line.

It should look like this. Then flip over, and cut the corners off. (I've marked it out in the next picture) We do this so it's easier to fold over.

The finished inside cover should look like the bottom picture. But, if you want to make it look more professional, you can take another piece of scrapbook paper, or even plain white printer paper to cover the raw edges we made.

Ombré Method

If you don't want to go out and get scrapbook paper, or you want something a bit different, this one is for you!

Start out with painting the top of a sheet of printer paper with your chosen colour. Then, slowly add white to the colour bit by bit while you move down the paper, and you'll get an ombré. When it's done it should look like the picture on the right.

This is optional, but you can add a layer of Mod Podge over top the entire page. I did that because I didn't like the texture of the acrylic paint.

To apply it to the notebook, you just do the same as the scrapbook method.

Labels

This part is done on the computer. I used Photoshop for this, but you can really just use Microsoft Word or another word processing program. (For Photoshop users, make the image size 8.5"/11" and 300dpi) I started by making a circle then copy and pasting the number of circles I need. Then, I wrote the subject title inside the circle. The font I used is Passion Tea.

Putting it Together

All's left to do is print out your page of titles and stick them onto your notebook! Now you have these awesomely cute notebooks :)

Thank you for waiting so long for this!!! I hope this was clear :/ but, if you have any questions, please comment down below :)

PS. Good luck with the whole situation, I know I need some

Legal 19!

A few days ago, I turned legally 19. And for those of you that don't know, the legal drinking age in Ontario is... 19! Gurl got turrrrrnnnnt (I'm kidding, I would never do that lmao) But, I wanted to do something, so I got together with a friend and we went to a rooftop bar/restaurant in the heart of downtown Toronto.

We mainly went there for the photos, though, seeing as everything there was expensive af. We were not disappointed, the view of the 6ix was great, and the food that we did order tasted great (no photos of the food, whoops!) Then after that, we went to get some real dinner at a nearby ramen place. The ramen was delicious, and my only complaint was that it was a bit too salty. All in all, a great night :)

It was so bright!!!!

Sipping beer like a 5 year old :D

Yes, it's the iconic "follow me around" picture

Thanks for reading,

PS. The reason I keep delaying that DIY notebook post y'all want is because I'm waiting for a very specific back-to-school sale!!! In that sale, the notebooks I'll be using will cost 5 cents instead of the usual $1.10. Yes, call me a cheapo; I do not care. But the tutorial is coming, I promise!

Taking Long Walks ft. Pokémon GO

I really like walking. Now, that might sound really strange coming from a person who HATES exercise, it's actually true. I often take super long walks (I'm talking like 10km) for whatever reason (eg. the dogwood photo challenge, just cuz, and Pokémon GO) and sometimes I see cool things.

So, I thought I'd take this change to share some of those photos with you, and also to rant about the app that is Pokémon GO.

I love the above photo. It was taken during Nuit Blanche of 2015. This is an art piece showing how much garbage we make in a year.

These photos were taken from that day I went downtown to try and take a city-type photo in Chinatown.

Now, these last photos were taken during my first official adventure for the purpose of playing Pokémon GO. The last photo of the Don River is unedited.

Now, I just have a few things to say about Pokémon GO. Let me first just say that I know it hasn't been released in Canada at all yet, so I'm to expect problems with the official apk, but STILL.

The servers suck SO much. Like, the amount of times I've arrived at a Pokémon gym and found that the servers were down is so frustratingly high. Also... isn't there more you guys could do to make your app more battery saving???? Like why must the screen be on to load anything? If only the page could still be working while the screen was off, that would be SO much better.

All of this is just me being salty that it hasn't been officially released in Canada... And also the fact that I've run out of Poké balls. :(

With that being said, despite all the anger that this game has caused me, I actually still really like it.

Thanks for reading,
